2022 has come and it seems to me that 6 years have passed since I started building the bridge between generations. And looking at the wines of each year, their evolution and the bottle in which they are bottled, the bridge between me, my brother and my family at home, makes me become more perseverant in concretizing more of the concept I have. in mind.

So, at a time when I felt like I hadn't been able to do much with wine in the last few months, I stayed to see how these years were, in terms of production and quality, but also in terms of evolution and learning. And it was really nice to think about it every year, looking at the wine bottles that contain a little of the specifics of that year ...

Since 2015, I have only one bottle of Primul Costica, which I will enjoy at a tasting on a December 1st with dear people listening to the story of wine. 2015 was the year in which I realized that I had to do something to remind both me and my family of my father Costica ... and to build the bridge between the generations with my grandmother as a common denominator ...

2016 was the first year I made Othelo wine separately and when I named it Costica Wine. It's the year in which the idea took shape and the artisanal wine showed me that if you grind it properly, it has potential. Some may say that Costica Wine has a commercial idea behind it, but in fact, behind it lies only a belief that wants to show wine connoisseurs that a hybrid wine by hand can be aged and polished, which seemed unimaginable. .

2017 was the time to test traditional winemaking methods, sulfur calibration and an attempt to make sparkling, semi-sweet wine, which at first seemed unsuccessful. I still have 19 bottles and honestly it doesn't look like a bad wine. Let's see how many remain, as the stopper periodically jumps on a bottle :). Costica the wise man 2017 did not hold up very well, because I did not put sulfites on him and he was altered.

2018 was the most memorable year, with many great events that contributed to the continuation of the idea. Thea wine, with the 100 bottles to open just for her birthday, the first wine barricaded in a new barrel that caught an aroma of prunes and blackberries, as well as a record production of Othello that gave us confidence that things going well.

2019 came with a new label, All Black concept, which made the wine look exactly as I imagined it. This is after a formal tasting with some semi-professionals, who gave me feedback and made me understand what I can improve on it. I still have about 15 bottles of this wine that was highly appreciated in the fishing trip in 2021 :).

2020, the first unburned Costica and the moment when my father's confidence in wine was seen for the first time. At the same time, my brother started flirting with the idea that it could turn into a family activity, which would bring us closer and which could give us a reason for belonging and communion of the family. Of course, with the mother's distrust, who still can't imagine the fact that wine, an alcoholic beverage with a not very happy history, can also unite families :). I still have 15 bottles from Costica cel Tanar and 45 from Intelept (I would have had more if I hadn't broken a bottle full of wine when I got in the car)

2021 is the year in which all the grapes were peeled, and the wine seems to be more and more "clean" and correct, to the joy of me and my father. About 300 liters of Othello came out, so we have something to put in the barricade. Also this year, Vinica Costica took mama Vica on the last road, making room for him next to her in the site of the new section, Camara Vicai, which I am still working on and which in 2022 will have her corner, not to mention mama , we are very proud of how he raised us.

And now 2022 has started for almost 3 months, months quite hectic and busy, but which should give us energy and confidence that it will be a year full of smiles ... we hope that the weather and the times will be good for a good production , traditions and spiritual achievements ...

Cheers!
