Harvesting time 2020

This year was the first year in which the grape harvest did not happen in line with the villagers, but we were the first to harvest ... We set the tone as they say, because in the following days everyone mobilized. Willingly, out of necessity, other considerations that made the year not the best of all so far, but nevertheless, there were good things that happened ...


Well, the production was a quality one, with healthy and beautiful grapes, and the company was one I haven't had in a long time, with aunts who came to stay with my mother who had just broken her leg, and neighbors who were normally picking grapes. , with the traditional pastrami of sheep and more recently with the beer of the "cart" that surprised me in a pleasant way. It would have been nice for Manu and my brother to come and wish, but COVIDU didn't leave us much. Maybe next year.


The harvest was fast and the work went smoothly, no longer having the opportunity to have lunch in the vineyard in the shade, on the newspaper, as it was last year. But just as beautiful and full of energy was the whole moment, that when I got home I was reset.


I also tried to open the grapes, to have that good tannin in the wine and to boil it, to the despair of my father, whose process I complicated and made the work difficult. But what to do? Quality requires effort and meticulousness;). But I compensated by indulgence :) to prepare the wine as he sees fit, sweetening it to make a good wine ... It's true that he still considers it "cigarette" because of the tannin that gives it a special harshness that I like like it a lot.


Last but not least, we found the place where the vine from which Costica cel Nobil will be planted will be planted. It was under my nose all the time, but only this year I realized how good the place is, according to the quality difference between the two vineyards. The land and the orientation of the vineyard matter a lot ...


And the morning coffee, there was one without degrees in it like last time, only with a special toping of fresh country air ... I will compensate for the pork cut when a brandy falls early in the morning as coffee :)


But the story does not end here :). Well, we hurried to start harvesting early, but we finished it late, picking white grapes from the vault of the house. We had the greatest help from Thea, who entertained us with smiles, hugs and infectious smiles. This year we will also have a few tens of liters of Costica the Gentle One, because we haven't had it for some time ...


And we also enjoyed another coffee, well hidden in the shade of the calf, with a donut made by Grandma from Turnu, the childhood dessert, as we told you on other occasions ... And we also saw a colorful sunset, to bring us a smile and a little relaxation ... well let's enjoy the little things around us, right?
